Thickness Guide - Bespoke Drain Covers

To maintain high safety standards, the information below will provide you with an overview of the requirements needed to ensure the correct thickness of the material is suitable for drain cover purposes. For example, used on a driveway or public use. If the cover is on a driveway or footpath the allowance must be made for the drain cover to bare the weight.

Up to a size of approximately 400mm square, we suggest a 5mm thick plate for pedestrian use and a 10mm plate for vehicles, (this is for small to medium size vehicles only). If it takes more weight than this, please get in touch, and we will be happy to advise you.

For any cover over 500mm square, please contact us to discuss the traffic that the cover will take.

All responsibility for use must lie with the purchaser as we have no idea as to the strength of the surrounding area.

I'm extremely pleased with the service provided by Bespoke Drain Covers. I found that the usual drain covers available online either didn't fit or weren't made of durable material. I’ve been looking for drain covers for a while but standard sizes were too small for my drains or wrong shape. I came across bespoke drain covers while searching for custom made drain covers. From my initial contact to receiving the finished items I can’t fault the service. They double checked my measurements with me, sent me diagrams of how the covers would look and made sure I was happy with them before producing them. They arrived quickly, were very well packaged to protect them during delivery. They’re a perfect fit, look good and so much better than plastic drain covers.
